KRYPTON (Superman)

Terrain

Krypton is a distant planet which orbits a red sun. Before its destruction, it was home to a great civilization which boasted advanced science and technology. In many versions of the story, it was either barren or icy, and often the home to huge crystals and crystalline structures. Krypton had many strange creatures (Such as glass-eaters) and beautiful landscapes that simply don't exist on other worlds. The planet was destroyed late in its life due to internal pressures (In most versions).

Krypton appears, or is at least mentioned, in almost every version of the Superman mythos. It has changed completely over the years while retaining many elements from its past.

It is the homeworld of Superman, but also to Supergirl, Krypto and other Kryptonians. Unfortunately, the destruction of the planet also created Kryptonite, radioactive chunks of the planet which are deadly to all Kryptonians. Jor-El told Louise McCallum, that Krypton has colors that humans couldn't even dream of.

Civilization

The planet Krypton was a larger than the Earth with one higher gravity planet, its composition is essentially ice and rock. The dominant life form is humanoid, i.e., basically equal to the humans of Earth. In the first film of 1978 Superman the Kryptonian live in semi subterranean structures that protect them from the intense cold from the outside, and its society is many centuries more advanced than human. They dominate the quartz and other mineral crystals by way of books, theory currently contemplated by the Earth, achieving perfect crystals that optically contain millions of data. Several of these crystals are sent with Superman to Earth, crystals in which it is our story, and crystals which will call him their own. One of these crystals will allow you to build your fortress of solitude. In comics, on the other hand, its appearance has changed through the different periods of the comic, not only the own planet if not the appearance and clothing of its inhabitants. They had a common language, the Kryptonian.

Society

In the cities they had large towers that purified the air and climate controlled. They also had towers to save and use the Sun's heat. There was a museum called the centre of Mind-Art. The robots did the difficult work, and constructions made them large machines. Krypton had so much gold that it had no value. In single Krypton had a disease called Virus-X. This condition had no cure. Since childhood, to the Kryptonian with a lighting, they made them immune to diseases. There was no problem with the wounds. The wounds are instantly healed. In schools, classes were given with the help of telepathic headphones. These helmets helped them teachers pass their knowledge in a fast way.

Customs

The wedding took place in the "Palace of the union", with the pair of furniture where the jewel of honour or of truth (a low carved pedestal of a unique jewel, enormous) was mounted, exchanged vows, at the time that made an exchange of rings wedding or "marriage bracelet" which always varied colour. Never was allowed to double a pair.
